Elena’s design work is informed by her Mediterranean childhood spent growing up in Cuneo, Italy, and her appreciation for piazzas—central spaces where people can gather to share their culture and find a sense of belonging. Elena works on public projects such as Red Hook Recreational Area, Phase III, Edenwald YMCA, and Octagon Sportsfield.
In 2014, Elena's project was selected for the eighth edition of the Bienniel: Redevelopment of the Railway in Rivaralo, Genoa, and she also placed in the Peano Foundation Sculpture competition. She lives on a sailboat with her husband off the coast of New Jersey and enjoys biking around Manhattan.
