122 Greenwich Avenue (One Jackson Square) is the first LEED Certified Green Condominium in the West Village. ABB provided full landscape architectural design services for the luxury development at 122 Greenwich Avenue, which included street tree selection/placement and roof terrace design for the second and eighth floors. The second-floor terrace is punctuated by circular skylights and includes a variety of plantings and seating for shared use. The building’s south and west façade are floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing the eighth-floor private terrace to function as an extension of the interior. The private terrace design includes a 1,100 SF wood deck with perimeter extensive green roof plantings comprised of succulents and other shallow soil accent plants, as well as evergreen plantings to screen rooftop mechanical equipment. The green roof component of the terraces contributed points toward the achievement of LEED Silver certification.
