James Crocker Portrait

James Crocker, PE

Senior Professional Engineer

James is a critical component to ABB’s success designing public open spaces using a holistic, integrated design process where landscape and engineering design are developed collaboratively. Through the lens of Civil Engineering, he provides valuable input on working systems and finds creative ways to merge the two disciplines. James consults internally with project teams and leads them to produce cost-effective, successful solutions across various project typologies.  He is a thoughtful mentor to his colleagues, and shares an abundance of engineering knowledge that is a rare commodity in a landscape architectural-led practice. James's recent work includes managing large-scale projects such as the $109 million, 36-acre, 4-phase Remediation and Reconstruction of the Red Hook Recreational Area.

Since 1985, James has used his wealth of knowledge and a depth of experience to develop unique site-specific solutions, resolve challenges during construction, supervise production of contract drawings, and lead agency approval filings. James is a registered professional engineer in the state of New York and Massachusetts. He and his wife Gerri live in Harlem and enjoy traveling both across the country and abroad.
